Greg
Welch has over 35 years of experience in planning, operations and
management of electric utility systems. He worked for three
years
as an Executive Consultant at ABB, Inc. prior to starting his own
business. At Commonwealth Edison of Chicago he served as the
Vice
President of Technical Services and Supply Management for the
Transmission and Distribution business unit. Before that he
had
been Manager of Distribution Planning and Reliability. He
also
held general management positions at Com Ed and managed customer
service, revenue metering and engineering departments. Greg
is
experienced in the planning and analysis of the interconnected
bulk power system, generation planning, distribution system planning
and distribution system design.
Greg
served as Vice Chair of the Power System Planning and Implementation
Committee of the IEEE Power and Energy Society (2000 - 2005) and is a
Past Chair (1998 -1999) of the Edison Electric Institute (EEI)
Distribution Committee. He has developed, chaired and
participated on panel discussions of distribution
automation, distributed generation, distribution and transmission
planning, competitive electricity markets, and aging T&D
infrastructure. Greg is a co-author with H. Lee Willis and
Randall Schrieber of Aging
Utility Infrastructures, Marcel Dekker, Inc., NY.
